Ten Thousand Villages Celebration on Tuesday

On Tuesday October 13th, a group of people from L’Arche Greater Vancouver will be attending a celebration at Ten Thousand Villages on West Broadway.

L'Arche is extremely appreciative of the support we have received from Ten Thousand Villages.

This celebration marks the end of a two month long partnership with Ten Thousand Villages on West Broadway.  L’Arche will be presented with a cheque of the funds raised throughout the months of August and September.   When someone said the word “L’Arche” when they made their purchase at the store, 10% was donated to L’Arche Greater Vancouver.

Check back next week for photos and the full story!

It is not often that we have the opportunity to partner with an organization that so closely reflects the spirit of L’Arche.  Both organizations are focused on building stronger communities, based on faith. Ten Thousand Villages strengthens communities around the world – as evidenced by the items in their store.  L’Arche creates communities for adults with developmental disabilities around the world through our International Federation.  We are one of those communities. Ten Thousand Villages also strengthens their local community – as evidenced by this generous donation to L’Arche Greater Vancouver.  We are grateful for this gift and this new friendship.

– Denise Haskett,  Community Leader/Executive Director of L’Arche Greater Vancouver
