Dec 3 Recognizing the UN’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities

December 3 has been designated by the UN as the International Day of  Persons with Disabilities as a day to promote the full and equal participation of disabled people in everyday life.

This year L’Arche will be celebrating the day with a benefit concert entitled “Christmas by Candlelight, Baroque & Beyond” featuring the Corpus Christi Chamber Choir directed by Tony Araujo.  Sheldon Leung will be adding to the evening with jazzy Christmas tunes on the piano.

Admission by donation.  Refreshments will be served following the performance.  There is limited seating at this venue, please come early.

About the choir:

The Corpus Christi College Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble associated with Corpus Christi College, the Catholic liberal arts college in Vancouver. The choir’s members include College students, alumni, and staff, as well as post-secondary students and working professionals from the wider community. The CC Chamber Choir promotes excellence in choral music, performing a variety of both sacred and secular choral repertoire, with an emphasis on contemporary commissioned works by living composers. In addition to its main performances each December and April/May, the CC Chamber Choir is regularly invited to perform at events throughout the Lower Mainland, and lends its talent to a number of fundraising and outreach initiatives each year.
