The Event

The Art of Being Together is a unique, signature event that will bring together emerging artists, respected art judges, sponsors, friends of L’Arche and the general public, all in support of L’Arche and celebrating “togetherness.”

Emerging artists have been invited to submit a piece that will use the theme of “The Art of
Being Together” as its inspiration. The art jury will choose 10 finalists who will have their work displayed at the event on March 5 where the judges will announce their top choice (Judge’s Choice) and the general public will be invited to vote on the “People’s Choice”. The finalists will be paid for their work and each corporate sponsor will be given one of the finalist’s original artwork.
The judges may also choose 10 – 12 artists for the honourable mention category. Their work will also be on display at the event and be available for sale. A portion of the sale of their work will go to L’Arche.

At the event, guests will also have the opportunity to participate in a silent auction and enjoy live music and refreshments. Admission is by donation (minimum $5) with all proceeds going to the L’Arche Foundation of Greater Vancouver. Mark March 5 (1:00 – 5:00 pm) at the National Nikkei Heritage Center in your calendar and bring your family and friends to this afternoon of art, community and fun!
