Thanks EBA Engineering Volunteers!

Yesterday L’Arche Greater Vancouver was delighted to welcome a group of volunteers from EBA, a Tetra Tech Company.  Once a year they take some time away from designing roads in remote parts of the country and give a half day to a non profit group to do whatever needs doing.  This year they came to L’Arche and got a lot done! They washed windows, trimmed hedges, pulled weeds and generally cleaned up the property at our main building.

Afterward they took some extra time to tour L’Arche, finding out more about what we do and meeting some of the people who live here.  During the visit to Unity House, Ilonka entertained the volunteers with her umbrella dance.

L’Arche’s Property Manager, Michael was impressed with the group. “They were so willing to do whatever we asked and they really seemed to enjoy working together”.

Andrew Deepwell (one of the three Andrews) sent us this note afterward “Thank you for giving us the opportunity to put our hands to work!  We all enjoyed getting out of the office (not to mention the great weather!). It is good when we can broaden our horizon, and I think L’Arche helped us do that when we worked and when we toured the homes.”

So today, we send out our thanks again to Volger, Tak, Jill, Graham, Conner and the three Andrews. Thank you for giving us your time and for EBA, a Tetra Tech Company who made it possible. Please come visit us again – there will be cookies waiting.
