Where are you from?

Before coming here, I lived in Sudbury, Ontario.

How did you hear about L’Arche?

When my daughter was in her early 20s she was working in a L’Arche community. She kept telling me what a great place it was to work. I was looking for an opportunity such as this and she knew that the environment was one that I would enjoy.

What are your first impressions of L’Arche Vancouver?

The first thing I noticed here at L’Arche Vancouver was its diversity. Like our mandate states, “we are people with a diversity of gifts and experiences” and I truly believe that L’Arche is a place that let’s diversity flourish and celebrates uniqueness.  I love meeting and learning from people of different cultures. L’Arche is like a quilt that is made of many different textures, colors and patterns that are sewn together creating an amazing picture.  In my life before L’Arche, that quilt was just one colour.

Anything else you would like to share?

I have really enjoyed my time at L’Arche so far. Thank you to everybody for being themselves.
